Service Dogs
Gold
Coast K9 has raised the bar for police service dogs and
the training of them since 1990. Our dogs are with some
of the busiest agencies in the country where a handler
cannot afford an unreliable dog.
Gold Coast K9s police service dog training is among
the best in the country and documented. Gold Coast K9
is continually looking to improve upon what is already
successful and to provide the best services to our clients.
Gold Coast K9 hand selects and/ or imports most of the
dogs from Holland, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

Comments:
Hey Rodney,
Just giving you an update on
Rico. His narcotic detection is phenomenal and the best
narcotic dog we have. He has had several finds on the street
and has earned the nick name of “ bar none” & “the franchise”
he has also found several suspect that were hiding as well as
some apprehensions. He is truly a great dog. Thanks Rodney.

CPC K-9 Unit
San Francisco Police Department
Rodney Spicer has been a driving force in a
philosophical change that has occurred in the K9 program. This
change has posted outstanding results over the past few years.
Rodney has been instrumental in developing and overseeing the
training that occurs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The
success of this is evident in the units daily on-duty
performance, but was once again validated with an outstanding
performance during a recent competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Two K9 teams from the unit combined to win first place in 3 of
the 5 events, and took second place in the overall top agency
category. These results were posted from a field of 43 K9
teams from the western states. This performance follows two
previous years of outstanding performance at similar K9 trials
in Phoenix, Arizona, where the last two years the unit earned
“top agency” honors. Rodney has worked hard with the competing
K9 teams to prepare them for these competitions, and has
accompanied them to the events.
All of these successes belong to each and every
member of the K9 unit from officer to trainer, as everything
they do is truly a team effort. There are no individuals in
this unit, only members of a team. This attitude is clear in
everything they do, as they constantly strive to improve each
other, knowing that the unit will improve as a result. Rodney
has given much of himself for the betterment of the unit.
I speak for the department when I say that I am
proud of this unit, each and every member of it, and of the
outstanding image that they project. They are truly a credit
to this Police Department.

Oxnard Police Department
Hey Rodney,
My name is Anthony Turso, and
I am the K9 handler that has Sasko. I work at the Tinton Falls
Police Department.
Sasko is an amazing dog. His
bite work is great, obedience amazing, and just a great
partner to have. He is also good with my children.
I took second place last year
in our PD1 competition, and also the year before. He has taken
1st in bite work, obedience, and agility, in several PD1's so
far.
Thanks for your help.
